Why It’s Great to Be a Female Comedian

Women in comedy can get a lot of criticism, but here are a few reasons it’s great to be a female comedian.

The bar is set low-  Nobody expects women to be funny, so if you actually get a laugh then people are that much more impressed.

They will set you up to fail-  As a female, some people will put you on a comedy show just to make you prove to them that you are actually a stand-up comedian, and they fully expect you to fall on your face.  But, of course, we are women, so we have enough padding to never actually fall on our faces.  And speaking of breasts…

Never worry about men not laughing-  Most guys will never laugh at a female comic because they are not actually listening to her material, they are too busy imagining her naked.  It takes the pressure off.

And the #1 reason…

You really do “Get No Respect”-  The life of a female comic is painful, and pain creates the best comedy.
